(Learning Outcome 2) P3(U21) M2(U21): Be able to create a proposal and pitch for an original media product based on a given brief
Purpose of a Practice pitch :
The purpose of the practice pitch is to enable improvements by listening to feedback. This tells me how to improve my product/pitch from the audience perspective. In addition, this practice pitch helps build confidence for the final pitch. It improves my presentation skills by presenting with confidence, clear and an effective way of showing my ideas.
INITIAL PITCH:
INITIAL POWERPOINT:
Feedback following practice pitch:
Does the title font represent the genre?
I will be changing the font for the masthead. After feedback, people thought of tech-no genre when they saw this font. My new font is love story, its stripped back and raw representing the acoustic genre.
Change Background:
I will be changing the background to the slide featuring my title. The reasoning behind this is because it represents the genre better than the blue background.
Less text in the powerpoint:
I will be expanding on my points made in the slides from my script. This will make my powerpoint more visual and eye-catching.
What makes your magazine content stand out?
I will be including a day in the life of the artist that month. This will be a social media takeover. It will intrigue readers and makes the magazine concept more interactive.
Should your target audience be older?
My secondary target audience will be featured in my final presentation pitch. It will be aimed at 25-30-year-olds attending live music concerts in North London. It will be both male and female.
Elaborate on initial sketches and competition:
I will be adding more detail to go along with slides rather than having all key points on the slide.
Updated Powerpoint

CORRECTIONS AND CHANGES MADE TO POWERPOINT AFTER FEEDBACK FROM INITIAL PITCH:
Background: The background of slides changed from the pale blue to the mic and music notes. The reason behind this is so the audience understands its acoustic pop. Furthermore, it's more eye-catching and makes it more unique.
The font for the title: The font will be changed from doctors glitch. The reasoning behind this is because from feedback the glitch theme reminds people of the techno genre. The new font I will be using is Love Story. This font represents how acoustic music sounds, for example, Soft and Stripped Back.
Adding legal and ethical issues: To keep the integrity of my magazine.
Including Secondary target audience: This target audience will be male and female aged to 25-30. As the acoustic genre also intrigues the older generation, this is the reasoning behind this. Many go to acoustic open mics or live concerts featuring acoustic Pop.
Adding mood board: helps generate ideas and understand what genre is about
More content: adding a day in the life takeover on social media to make magazine stand out
Potential client questions and answers:
Potential questions:
1. Does the doctor's glitch font suit the genre of acoustic pop?
Potential answers:
I will be changing my font. Due to feedback from the audience, I recognised that the font suits the Techno music genre rather than the acoustic pop genre. Even though the glitch theme has connotations of unplugging musical instruments.
Potential questions:
2. What content will you be making to make you different to your competitors in the market?
Potential Answer:
The feature of rating the venues makes my magazine different. This is because it enables my readers to learn more about the venues from the same target audience. In addition, I will be adding a day in the life of the chosen artist from that month. This gives an insight into what a day looks like for an upcoming artist living in North London. This is what makes my magazine stand out from my competition.
Potential questions:
3. Who would be your model for the magazine?
Potential Answer:
The model would be someone I know personally. Furthermore, sometimes it may be one of the interns working for the company.
Potential questions:
4. How will you gather the equipment necessary in order to produce the product?
Potential Answer:
I will purchase some equipment or rent out equipment. Furthermore, I own some items like the camera. Furthermore, I can ask friends and colleagues if they own any of the equipment needed. By getting equipment this way, it helps with keeping a low budget. It also allows money to be spread to different departments like advertising and marketing campaigns.
Potential questions:
5. Will you feature a secondary target audience?
Potential Answer:
My secondary target audience will be 25-30 years including male and females. As the acoustic genre also intrigues the older generation, this is the reasoning behind this. Many go to acoustic open mics or live concerts featuring acoustic Pop.
Potential questions:
6. Will your interns be paid?
Potential answer:
When they start with the company they will not be. However, once we start making a profit and if the intern performs well they would be offered a full time paid job. Interns will cover all the personnel needed. This also increases my budget to be spent in other areas.
Potential questions:
7. Who will be rating the venues that you will feature in monthly content?
Potential answers:
I and a range of the staff will rate the venues. We would rate venues by price, hospitality, seating, food and drink and overall experience. The reasoning behind staff rating the venue is because they will be roughly in the target audience that we are promoting our magazine too. Making it relatable and a better opinion for our readers.
